I have my parents to thank for my photographic journey. They bought me my first camera when I was 14. It was a Pentax 35mm film camera. I wasn’t very success with it the first 4 rolls of film when developed they were blank out blank. I never figured out why, I suspect I had loaded the film incorrectly, so it didn’t advance. I never told anyone I was to embarrassed! The high school I went to had a Photography Club and a darkroom. I joined in Grade 10. Most of the members belonged to the club, so they smoke on school property in the darkroom, I didn’t smoke but had lots of fun learning how to develop and print photographs.
This was before the internet. I spent time at the library reading books on photography and subscribing to photographic magazines and I subscribed to Time Life Magazine photografic series. I never developed a style and spent many years taking snapshots.
A few years ago, I decided to get better at seeing the word and expressing it through photography. That’s when I joined the London Camera Club. The club is one of the oldest and largest Canadian club. Several members have helped me develop my photographer’s eye.
I am inspired by several photographers, Marrion Bucelle, Sharon Tenenbaum, Matt Kloskowski and Joel Grimes .
Thank you for visiting!
